One of the most famous consultants on marketing and innovation – Eric Joachimsthaler of Vivaldi Partners – discusses an interesting topic of what type of organization it would take to boost innovation. He outlines three types of emerging organizations:

– the analytical or “intelligent” organization which relies heavily on analysis. Examples include consulting companies and agencies

– the creative organization which relies heavily on intuition and gut feeling or “knowing without thinking”

– the third one is an organization based on the idea of design thinking, i.e. a balance of analytical mastery and intuitive originality in a dynamic interplay
